Project Description
Concept Idea
The concept of the skyscraper is to create multiple atria. A single atrium has been done many times, but to create multiple atria can make a tower a living organism with many things happening on multiple levels. These atria give daylight and visual connections to the different levels. There are three atria which fuse together on the top and the bottom of the tower. Whilst one atrium goes straight up, the otter two modulate in one axis and give shape of the tower. By doing this, every level is different whilst creating a calm and coherent overall project. A further goal was to create a tower which is on the cutting edge in terms, whilst still possible with today’s technologies and construction methods.

Inside and outside
To strengthen the concept of the atria and the different levels it was important not to have any visual boundaries. For this reason, there are balconies all around the facade and the inner atria. The balconies give shade to the outer facade and prevent overheating. With the location of the tower in the heart of Hyde-Park in London, the balconies give a 360-degree view and respect the park on all sides. The structural system comprised of walls between inside and outside. The curvature of the walls to the celling and to the floors emphasise the structural logic and the connection from floor to floor. It should feel like the floors and the structural walls are one element. By locating the structural walls towards the middle between Inner and outer balconies it heightens the idea of floating ellipsis in space and gives no visual interruption from atria to atria. Additionally, two elevator cores are placed which go from bottom straight to the top of the tower.
